Terms of Service

These terms apply to the use of the MatchUp app, operated by Bridge2Things Automation Process GmbH, Annagasse 6, 3. Stock, 1010 Wien, Österreich (office@matchupsports.app). How we handle your data is set out in the privacy policy.

MatchUp is 18+. By signing up you confirm that your details are correct, especially your age. One account per person. You sign in with e-mail and password or with Google or Apple; anyone with access to your Google or Apple account can also get into your MatchUp account.

You find people for your sport, chat, arrange meetings, play ranked matches with a rating and multiplayer games. There is no right to suitable suggestions or constant availability.

Be fair and respectful. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, fake profiles, spam, advertising, inappropriate photos or texts and false result reports are not allowed. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour: we remove such content and ban the accounts that spread it. The app does not accept usernames, bios, team names, messages or free-text meeting places that contain offensive words.

You can report people and messages and block people. If you report someone (while swiping, in a chat or on their profile), the app also blocks that person for you.

Automatic: if three different people who have already had contact with the person (a friendship, a shared chat, game or Ranked team, or a Ranked proposal or match against each other) report a profile, the app hides it automatically until our team has reviewed the reports. The person concerned sees this in the app.

By people: our team (administrators) reviews reports. It can dismiss a report, show a profile again or keep it hidden, delete reported messages and ban accounts. A ban is always decided by a person. Every decision is logged. We review reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. If we delete content, hide a profile or ban an account, you receive a statement of reasons from us: in the app or by e-mail to your address, with the decision, the reasons for it and how you can complain.

Complaints: if you think a decision is wrong, write to us within 6 months via Help & support in the app (Profile → Edit profile → Help) or to office@matchupsports.app. A person on our team reviews the decision again and replies to you within 14 days. You can also go to court.

You arrange meetings yourselves; MatchUp is not the organiser and is not liable for meetings, venues or injuries. You enter ranked results only after your meeting has started. Late cancellations can count as a loss in ranked mode, as described in the app. In ranked meetings with check-in, whoever is the only one to tap “I am here” wins automatically; if nobody checks in, the match does not count. You play ranked chess at a partner café: a meeting reserves a board there for one hour; the café does not guarantee a seat. In chess nobody wins automatically through the check-in: if one side is missing, the match does not count. You enter a ranked chess result only with a photo of the board after the game; photograph only the board. Blocking never counts as a loss: before the start the match ends without a rating change, after it the result counts.

Ranked chess is offered only in cities with a partner café. For a draw, one player reports it and the other confirms. A confirmed draw voids the match without changing MP. An unanswered draw report also voids the match without changing MP: 24 hours after the meeting started, but no sooner than 24 hours after the report.

You can delete your account at any time (Profile → Edit profile → Account → Delete account). We can ban your account for serious or repeated breaches of these rules.

Use is at your own risk. Uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. We are liable only for intent and gross negligence and as required by mandatory statutory provisions. We accept no liability for disputes between players or for injuries or damage during a meeting.

Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. For consumers, the mandatory law of their country of residence additionally applies, and they may sue and be sued at their place of residence. Otherwise, to the extent legally permissible, the place of jurisdiction is Vienna.
